The walls, bar, tables, the ice sculptures and art inside ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL are made of natural and pure ice from the pristine Torne River. The design is not only beautiful and exotic, but also safe. For seven to ten days each year the ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL is closed for renovation and redecorating. During this time, due to safety concerns, guests are not allowed in the bar.
The ice is part of the natural eco-cycle of water. Even in a cold climate, ice will evaporate. For ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL, this means that the shapes and details of the works of ice art and interior design will change over time. The ice is also affected by our guests, who wish to touch and feel the ice and are encouraged to do so, since this is a necessary part of the experience and the concept.
Audio and visual content brings a new dimension to our concept. By combining state-of-the-art technology from leading partners in that field with high-quality sound and images, photography and music, a virtual sensation for IEHOTEL is created. The Creative Director of ICEHOTEL leads the development of the art in the ICEBAR by ICEHOTEL. Each new ice theme follows a strict design process in order to meet the strict public safety standards consistent with our guidelines.
